My Review:
Once Upon a Holidate was a super cute, cozy (but with a little steam) holiday romance that left me with all the warm feelings. This was my first in the Happily Inc. series but it definitely won’t be my last!
Single mom and successful business owner Wynn has been crushing on her hot neighbor, Garrick, from afar ever since he moved in. She’s hesitant to approach him and not sure she deserves love after a mistake she made years ago.
Small town police chief Garrick has noticed Wynn too, but now he needs her help. His estranged and pregnant 21-year-old daughter Joy Lynn (sp?) is coming to stay with him while her husband is deployed, and Garrick has no idea what to do. He wants to create a comfortable home for her and his bachelor pad needs serious help. So he gets up the nerve to ask Wynn to help him. And off they go…
I loved the genuine goodness of Wynn and Garrick, along with all the side characters. Sometimes Wynn is a little bit goody-two-shoes, like acting like it’s the end of the world when her teenage son makes a teenage mistake, but I really liked her—a caring, thoughtful person not afraid to give her opinions and call things like she sees them. Garrick is such a good guy too. He’s kind of your clueless dad trying to figure out what happened to drive his daughter away, and watching them rebuild their relationship was heartwarming and sweet.
And this audiobook also included Bethany and Cade’s story! Bethany is a European princess who keeps a low profile, working in the royal stables. Her favorite horse is sold to Cade in the U.S., and Bethany goes along to make sure the horse settles in comfortably. Cade thinks she’s a stable employee, not the princess…lots of attraction and two more genuinely lovely people.
The narrator was good—the inflection and cadence sometimes felt a bit off, but overall she had a nice voice and I enjoyed listening to the story.

My Review:
Time to gear up for the holiday season! What? Really? Well, I’m one of those Christmas-obsessed people and will read a holiday book at any time of year. Add in second chances, fake dating, and close proximity, and Yours For the Season sold me.
Melanie is furious with Finn, and rightfully so! Just when she thought their relationship was perfect, he broke up with her in front of his entire family and completely humiliated her. Now, six months later, he has the gall to show up at her front door and ask her to pretend to be his girlfriend and spend Christmas with his family in a Scottish Highlands cottage for an entire week! So she agrees as long as she can dump him at the end of it….
Of course we know that’s not gonna happen. Or is it? Yours For the Season is an endearing story of second chances, different perspectives, emotional growth, family, and so much more. And it’s a lot of fun. The dual timeline/flashbacks were interesting, with the present being primarily from Mel’s point of view and the past from Finn’s. The author takes us through what led to the breakup, the uncertainty Finn was feeling, and back to the present where maybe they can work things out. The family element was lovely too—Finn’s family is so warm and loving, but with issues of their own and secrets being kept.
All in all, a fun and heartwarming holiday read, and another of this month’s fantastic romance book releases!

My Review:
Old Hollywood glamour, age gaps, a naïve LA newbie and an established playboy—this book had me from Page One.
Livvy’s a promising actress brand-new to the LA scene and cast in a movie opposite Flynn, one of Hollywood’s biggest stars and a walking scandal. It’s gotten so bad that he’s caught the attention of the morality police and is in danger of losing his movie contracts. So a fake dating scheme is hatched.
Despite Livvy’s inexperience and youth, she’s not going to let Flynn intimidate her, and she’s willing to push and challenge him—something he’s not used to AT ALL. And he loves it. There’s something about a beautiful, talented, young woman who’s willing to go toe to toe with him where everyone else just kisses up and bows down to him. Flynn is forced to confront the emptiness of his life and think about what he really wants; Livvy is forced to learn the ways of Hollywood and figure out what she wants too.
The banter and wit sold me—I adore the author’s writing style and the fantastic dialogue throughout. And the characters? So much fun! We get cameos from Dash and Joan (It Happened One Fight), and I just love the way Flynn and Livvy developed. Plus, yes please to the Hollywood glamour and style—so iconic! And finally, there’s the cutest pet monkey sidekick!
Highly recommend!
