Jilted had me from Page One! Funny, all the feelings, clever writing and banter, endearing characters—sign me up!

Sloan has been obsessed with weddings since she was a little girl, so it’s fitting that she’d end up as a Bride magazine writer. Until her fiancé gets to the altar and says “no thanks” and crushes her heart. So these days, she’s on a man moratorium—a yearlong hiatus from dating to figure things out for herself.

But then she bumps into Wilder, who has the most gorgeous eyes she’s ever seen, at a wedding. She can ignore the instant chemistry, right? Maybe. But the banter starts right away, and they’re both feeling something, though neither wants to admit it. Wilder has his own baggage, but Sloan’s got him tied up in knots and rethinking his outlook on love.

I adored everything about Jilted! Right from the start, the author gave enough of a backstory on Sloan’s wedding for context without dwelling on it. Thank you! I HATE when a romcom dwells on all the bad stuff a character went through and drags out the horrible ex drama; Jilted was the opposite!

I could absolutely feel the tension between Sloan and Wilder, and the connection they had. Reading their interactions, the buildup of the relationship, the way Wilder showed up for Sloan (most of the time) and built her up, the way she did the same for him, all of it worked so well. They were both genuinely wonderful people, each with some baggage and hangups, but not ridiculous or annoying. They worked through things like grownups (again, most of the time). When they screwed up, they figured it out and admitted it. 

The author did such an incredible job of having Wilder and Sloan push through things in a relatable, charming way. Plus the steamy scenes were perfect. I was honestly sad when Jilted was over—I wanted to keep hanging out with Sloan, Wilder, and Sloan’s whole family.

And the narrators? Perfection! Definitely get the audiobook if you’re going to read Jilted. Andi Arndt and Aiden Snow were masterful.
