Countless fantastic and un-put-downable romance books are releasing in just one month, including surefire bestsellers from Emily Henry and Abby Jimenez among others! ARC Review:
I love Amalie Howard and loved this romance book so much! The love story is gorgeous, but the book centers more on the FMC and her girl gang fighting for women’s rights, orphans, and schools—all the people with no power in Regency England.
Lady Zenobia (“Zia”), a wealthy duke’s daughter, is so over being someone’s possession and wants more from her life than looking pretty and deferring to a husband. She’s a brilliant composer and student, and is beyond frustrated that any woman who has an opinion is considered hysterical. But how does she start breaking down these boundaries without going too far??
Zia’s fed up enough to take matters into her own hands along with her friends—reading banned books and finding money for the orphans (by whatever means possible), composing music, and sharing secrets. Until her brother’s best friend, Rafi, is onto her…
Zia and Rafi together are fire, even though there’s no spice in this book (a complete shock, since Amalie Howard books usually have the best steamy scenes). Which makes sense, since women’s independence and free-thinking ability, among other feminist themes, take center stage here over romance. Still, the sensuality and chemistry are off the charts and radiate from the characters, and there are some beautiful intimate moments.
I love Zia’s adventures and growth through the book, as well as Rafi’s. Unusual for Regency romance, it’s first person single point of view. So we get much more insight into Zia, but we still get enough of Rafi and also get the air of mystery. Also loved the inclusivity and diversity of characters. Finally, I LOVED the Mary Wollstonecraft quotes and references, and various literary references interspersed throughout the book.

What a hilarious and fun Regency romance through a crumbling estate with all kinds of mishaps, secrets, and all the love. I laughed so many times and felt some legit emotional pull and feelings too.
High-spirited, smart, and independent-minded Lady Margaret is none too pleased that her dad signed a contract for her to marry James, Duke of Earnhurst, without even asking her. And she’s never even met the guy who—btw—has a horrid reputation. What’s a girl to do? Well, if she has a like-minded, creative aunt only a few years her senior, she comes up with a creative solution: pretend to be her aunt’s companion and go undercover at James’ estate to learn about him…
Frustrated James REALLY doesn’t want to deal with the crumbling estate. At all. He’s bitter at his now-deceased dad, drunk, and has no tolerance for ladies who just show up at his door for a tour. What does he do? Pretend he’s the butler, of course! They’ll be gone in a couple hours, right? Only Meg sprains her ankle and has to stay for two weeks (who knew sprained ankles could be so serious).
This book is SO MUCH FUN. The secret identities bring chaos and havoc, and there are tons of laughs. But in between, true feelings and romance develop not only between Meg and James, but also between other characters. The four points of view really worked for me—I loved getting to see things from everyone’s point of view and kind of see how it would all come together. Overall, a lighthearted, no-spice, bit of fun in Regency England. Enjoy!

ARC Review:
Just WOW! I’ve been salivating over this book’s release, and it did not disappoint! Davis and Kev’s story brought ALL the emotions, broke my heart and put it back together again. This whole series really got me—I started Wish You Were Here, then went back and reread Come As You Are and Lips Like Sugar (you don’t have to read the first two to love the third, but I just couldn’t help myself, and it’s worth it to read all three).
Twentysomething Davis was working in a lab and getting her Ph.D, but budget cuts took her position away and she headed home to Bluebird Mountain, her family’s Montana ski lodge. Recovering addict Kev lives and works on the property, along with others in recovery as part of a program Davis’ stepdad, Madigan, runs. He’s had a rough childhood and a rough life—can he leave it behind him? Davis thinks she’s found love until Kev relapses in a truly heartbreaking way…
Now he’s even more determined to recover, to rebuild his life, and to find a way back to Davis. He’ll do anything, even confront those demons he’s always ignored or pushed to the back burner. She can’t trust him, and knows she couldn’t handle another heartbreak at his hands.
What an emotional, gut-wrenching but also joyful journey; lies we tell ourselves and truths we hide from, confronting our deepest pains and fears, opening up to the people we love, becoming vulnerable, trusting people, making amends, having each other’s backs, finding community, figuring out how to move past the pain and find happiness, convincing yourself you deserve happiness and reaching for it. I’m not usually a crier but this one got me, in all the best ways!
But it wasn’t just emotions the whole time—there’s humor, warmth, some amazing pop culture references. LOVED the characters—they are so human, so perfectly imperfect, you can feel for all of them deep down, from the two main characters to all the amazing side characters as well. OMG I will always love Madigan and Cole. Always. But my favorite character? The horse!!!
I can’t recommend this book and series enough!
